ORIGINAL: Basile police are looking for an “armed and dangerous” man wanted in connection with a domestic violence assault Tuesday.

According to Police Chief Allen Ivory, 41-year-old Jeramie Anthony Brown of Eunice has a court appearance Wednesday on previous charges of domestic abuse battery.

Ivory said Brown is accused of strangling a witness in his case at a home in the Basile area late Tuesday evening.

“The victim was cut and bruised, but will be ok.” Ivory said.

Brown allegedly fled the area following the assault and should be considered armed and dangerous, Ivory said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Basile Police.

He now faces additonal charges of tele-communication harrassment, threatening a public official, unauthorized entry into a habited dwelling, second degree battery, flight, resisting arrest, intimidating a witness, and domestic abuse battery by strangulation.

Ivory said he was last seen wearing all black clothing, with his face painted black and green with a black beanie.
