UL football players to log 1,000 hours of community service following viral video

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Ragin’ Cajun head football Coach Mark Hudspeth says students and coaches will log 1,000 hours of community service following a video of players singing an anti-Trump song in the locker room.

Student athletes will no longer have control of music played over the locker room speakers, according to Hudspeth.

The players will also be educated on the consequences that follow when “mistakes are made, like the one in the locker room.”

UL players and coaches will speak to local student athletes in an attempt to prevent them from making the same mistake.

“We’re going to every middle school and high school in Acadiana, coaches and players, for every school that will have us, to talk to their players so hopefully we can keep them from maybe making a similar mistake one day.”
