JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH (KLFY) – Two people from Lafayette were killed in a crash this morning in Jeff Davis parish.

Just after ten this morning, state police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of highways 190 and 26 — about two miles east of Elton.

Troopers say 53-year-old Ushaben Patel of Lafayette was driving north on LA 26 and failed to stop at a stop sign.

Patel’s van was struck by 42-year-old James Felix of Carencro. Felix was traveling west on us-190.

Patel and her front seat passenger, 64-year-old Dhanubed Patel, also of Lafayette, were both killed in the crash.

Two other passengers in Patel’s van had minor to moderate injuries.

Authorities say Felix had minor injuries.
