LAFAYETTE, La. (The Advertiser)- A 15th Judicial District Court hearing regarding the lawsuit filed against the Lafayatte Consolidated Government over the parish charter’s flawed council districts has been postponed, according to the Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court’s office.
The hearing was scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, but was postponed. A new date has not been announced.
The postponement follows a petition and memorandum filed by Attorney General Jeff Landry on behalf of Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin on Wednesday calling on the court to invalidate the parts of parish’s Home Rule Charter amendment approved by voters in December.
