Suspect charged for attacking and beating girlfriend causing her to have brain surgery

Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s have arrested a Kinder man suspected on attacking his attacking his girlfriend. 

In April 2018, the victim was admitted into Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette with severe head injuries that required brain surgery, the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office said today. 

On May 10, the victim’s niece was visiting her in the hospital and was told by the victim that her boyfriend, Darrell Comeaux, had severely beat her.

“She tried to leave the home Comeaux followed her down the road, tackling her and began beating her head until she blacked out,” authorities said the victim reported. 

Detectives were informed of the new information by the victim’s niece and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.  

Darrell  Paul Comeaux, 66, was booked on one count of attempted manslaughter. 

He is being held on $100,000 bond in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail.
