St. Martinville police searching for suspect involved in shooting

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)- UPDATE: Has been arrested Davontae Garnder, police said. A final suspect, Blake Charles is still wanted.

ORIGINAL STORY: On January 11, officers responded to a disturbance in progress at the intersection of Randolph St. and S. Theater St. within the city limits of St. Martinville.

After a thorough investigation, officers learned that several gun shots were fired at a fleeing vehicle.

The suspects shooting have been identified as Dylan Benjamin and Blake Charles, the St. Martinville Police Department said.

Warrants were issued for both subjects on the charges of aggravated assault and illegal use of weapons.

Warrants were also issued for the arrest of Wendell Benjamin for an accessory after fact charge, Deiondre Benjamin for disturbing the peace by fighting and Davontae Gardner also for disturbing the peace by fighting.

As of today, Wendell Benjamin, Dylan Benjamin and Deiondre Benjamin have all been arrested on their warrants, St. Martinville Police Chief Ricky Martin said.

Officers are still attempting to locate Blake Charles and Davontae Gardner.
