UPDATE, 7/5/23, 10:13 P.M.: An investigation led the Breaux Bridge Police Department to obtain an arrest warrant for Candella Monique Ledet, 46 on one count of attempted 2nd degree murder. Ledet was found to have relocated to Austin, Texas. Lone Star Fugitive Task Force collaborated with Breaux Bridge Police to apprehend Ledet in Texas on June 14.

Ledet was extradited back to Louisiana on Tuesday where she was arrested and booked on by Breaux Bridge Police.

ORIGINAL, 5/19/23, 11:28 A.M.: BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) — A Breaux Bridge man is in stable condition at a local hospital after being shot twice in his home Thursday night, police said.

The unidentified man was shot twice in his home in the 700 block of Begnaud Street, authorities said, before being taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery.

Police said no suspects have yet been identified, and the incident is still under investigation.
