St. Martin Parish to sign agreement extending water service from Henderson to Butte La Rose

HENDERSON, La. (KLFY)- St. Martin Parish President Chester Cedars will enter a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Henderson-Nina Water System, Inc. on Wednesday. 
 
The contract explains how the governmental entity will assist a private nonprofit corporation in an effort to extend water serve to the Butte La Rose community. 
Arsenic levels over the maximum contaminate level allowed in drinking water by the Department of Health has been identified in the ground water of the Butte La Rose Community.
 
The water system has intention of extending water service from Henderson to Butte La Rose.
Officials with the USDA, DHH, Delta Regional Authority, Acadiana Regional Planning Committee and others to attend the meeting.
 
The meeting is open to the public and we are anticipating members of the Butte La Rose
committee.
The meeting will be held at the Henderson Recreation Building in the park, Wednesday September 19 at 6 p.m. at 1015 Amy Street
