SpayNation offers drive-thru rabies clinic in Lafayette

Local

Spay Nation has made it easier for pet owners to vaccinate their animals for years.

This time around, things got a lot easier.

As News Ten’s Katie Easter explains,  many waited in their vehicles for hours with their dogs.

While the lines wrapped around the Cajundome, owners say its worth it.

“I waited for two hours and I would do it again.”

“It was a lot easier and worth it.”

Spay Nation has offered the free rabies clinic for several years however its usually inside a clinic.

Shelly Fontenot said, “This is the first time we have done it in the drive thru format. Everyone has been happier by the time they get up here.”

Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center partnered with Spay Nation this year to provide the important vaccination.

Fontenot warns, “We have rabies in our Wildlife population in our parish so its important to be up to date on vaccines.”

Veterinarians vaccinated over 1,000 dogs on Saturday.
