SCOTT, La. (KLFY)- UPDATE: The City of Scott has restored pressure within the water supply system above the minimum required level established by the Louisiana Administrative Code
Sanitary Code, city officials said.

Water tested by the Louisiana Department of Health – Office of Public Health is negative for coliform bacteria.

Therefore the boil advisory released as a precautionary measure is now rescinded. The water is again safe for consumption.

ORIGINAL: The city of Scott has experienced pressure problems with the water supply system, officials said. An electrical contractor damaged a water main in a development under construction, causing a loss of pressure for less than an hour. The pressure has been restored. However, as a precaution, the city is issuing a boil advisory effective immediately.

This advisory will remain in effect until rescinded by the water system.
