JENNINGS, La. (KLFY)- A Jennings man wanted for allegedly beating a child in his care was arrested Tuesday by U.S. Marshals in Ville Platte.
Justin Brock King is facing one count of cruelty to a juvenile for allegedly beating his girlfriend’s 5-year-old daughter who he was supposed to be babysitting.
Jennings Police Chief Danny Sims said the girl sustained injured to her face, body and head.
“The juvenile was brought to the hospital where it was determined that the injuries were consistent with abuse,” the department said today.
During its investigation, officers learned that King was the suspect in a 2016 abuse case involving an 11-month-old child.
Sims said King may face additional charges once the investigation is turned over to the district attorney’s office.
“We want to thank the U.S. Marshal’s Office for assisting with this investigation,” Sims said. “Once he was located, it was smooth and quick arrest.”
