A 46-year-old Breaux Bridge man was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening, according to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Shawn Talley was walking in the 1000 block of Huval Lane in Cecilia when he was struck and died at the scene, Major Ginny Higgins said.

Higgins said Talley was alone when the crash happened.

It remains unclear why Talley was walking in the roadway, Higgins said.

The investigation remains ongoing and no charges are pending at this time, Higgins said.
