LPSO searches for man wanted on contractor fraud, theft charges

Kermit "Joey" Leger, 43, is wanted on charges of contractor fraud and felony theft in Lafayette and surrounding parishes.

Rayne Police arrest armed robbery suspect

RAYNE, La. (KLFY) -- A Rayne man faces numerous charges after police say he robbed a victim in a grocery store parking lot and fled on Feb. 24.

Johnathan Dixon, 22, of Rayne faces charges of attempted armed robbery, armed robbery firearm enhancement, simple burglary, certain felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm. The bond was set by District Court Judge David Smith at $235,000.

UL Lafayette praised for having bicycle-friendly campus

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is one of 38 colleges and universities nationwide to be recognized by the League of American Bicyclists.

According to university officials, The school recently earned a 2020-2024 bronze award as part of the league’s Bicycle Friendly University program. It also earned the multi-year designation in 2015.
