Opelousas to furlough 30 city employees

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY)- Opelousas city officials said Friday morning they will need to furlough some city employees due to the lack of revenue since the COVID-19 outbreak.

Mayor Julius Alsandor says 30 employees will be affected. It is not known yet, what departments the cuts will come from.

The furlough is due to the loss of money from water and sewage fees.
