  • 8-year old Arake Quibodeaux was honored over the weekend at the winner’s circle at Evangeline Downs racetrack.  The terminally ill boy has been getting plenty of Christmas wishes through social media.
  • The New Orleans Saints are in action tonight against the Carolina Panthers.  Its the first time the two NFC South teams have met this season.  Kick-off is set for 7:15.
  • Governor John Bel Edwards says his number one agenda item for 2019 is getting teachers a pay raise.The governor is also looking to see what his office can do to improve early childhood education.
  • Ride shareing app Lyft is partnering with the Louisiana highway safety commission to offer discounts on their app in an effort to decrease drunk driving over the holiday season.  The discount lasts through New Year’s Day.
  • A homicide investigation continues today in Jeff Davis Parish. Details are scarce at this time, but we do know it happened at a home on highway 90 between Iowa and Lacassine.
  • After one man was arrested for allegedly passing counterfeit money, Duson police say its important to know what to look for when handling bills while holiday shopping in case those bills are fake.
  • Lafayette fire spokesperson Alton Trahan says the department responded to multiple fires in the past week – with some of them being caused by curious children.
