Here’s what you should know before you head out the door:

  • LUS officals say they will continue to clean the hydrated lime on Tuesday that was released near the the LUS North Water Plant Sunday morning. They’re also urging any residents affected to change their HVAC filters when returning home.
  • A mother of five who evacuated due to the LUS chemical spill says LUS waited too long to contact her. An LUS representative says as soon as the incident occurred, all proper parties were notified.
  • The Town of Basile just got audited by the state and the findings were not good. The state audited the town last year. It found that the town is over a $100,000 in debt.
  • Two men were arrested for the murder of an 19-year old Carencro man. They were each charged with one count of second-degree murder.
  • President Trump will deliver his second State of the Union Address tonight, one week later than originally planned due to the Government Shutdown.
  • The Cajundome announced Monday that Lynyrd Skynyrd featuring Hank Williams, Jr. will be in concert on May 18th, the date that caused high school graduations to be rescheduled.
  • Areas of fog and showers are across Acadiana this morning with temps in the 60’s. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high in the upper 70’s.  Scattered showers are possible.
