New Iberia woman feared to have been kidnapped, found safe


UPDATE: As of 10:09 p.m. Detectives are advising that the kidnapping victim has been located and appears to be unharmed. The incident is still being investigated.

ORIGINAL: The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s office is attempting to locate a woman who was kidnapped from her home Wednesday evening.

Witnesses stated that the victims boyfriend kicked open the front door of her residence in the 600 Block of West Admiral Doyle Drive, lifted her onto his shoulder and ran out of the residence carrying the victim.

Detectives say at approximately 7:44 p.m. officers responded to the reported kidnapping and learned that the victim, 24 year old Tkeyah Jones was last seen wearing a green shirt, blue jean shorts and black shoes.

Witnesses stated the suspect, 25 year old Jamie Cole who was last seen wearing blue jeans, white t-shirt and black shoes. Cole is also described as a black male approximately 6’2″ to 6’3″ tall.

Detectives are asking if anyone has information involving the incident to contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-369-3711.
