UPDATE: Arrest made in New Iberia Wednesday night shooting that left one dead


UPDATE: 29-year-old Collin Coco was arrested Friday evening for the death of Noah Olivier that occurred on Wednesday night.

Through investigation, it was found that the victim and two other males went to Coco’s home Wednesday night. At the home, a verbal argument started between the victim and Coco.

During the argument, Coco pulled a gun and fired at the victim and the two other male individuals present. 

Noah Olivier was shot in the chest and died at the scene. A second victim was hit in the shoulder and fled the scene, where the third male was not injured. 

Collin Coco was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on one count second degree murder and two counts attempted second degree murder. 

No bond has been set at this time.  

ORIGINAL: Iberia Parish Deputies were called to the 3500 block of Olivier Rd., Wednesday shortly before 6:30 p.m., in regard to a shooting, that left one man dead.

At the scene, deputies were directed by a large group of people in the driveway of a home, to an individual laying on the ground.

The individual was 22-year-old Noah Olivier, who appeared to have a gunshot wound to the chest.

Deputies gave emergency first aid but were unable to save him.

Olivier was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office. 

Deputies found a person of interest at the scene.
