New Iberia police seek driver in hit-and-run crash that injured bicyclist

New Iberia police are asking for the public’s help in locating a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist with injuries.

According to police, the crash happened Monday night around 7:35 p.m. in the 1700 block of Center Street near the Chase Bank.

Police say the driver of a Ford passenger vehicle struck a male bicyclist and did not stop.

The suspect’s vehicle turned onto Cape Palos towards E Admiral Doyle, according to police, and has possible damage to front passenger side and is missing a passenger side mirror.

The victim was transported to a Lafayette hospital.

Anyone with information about the vehicle and/or the person driving this vehicle is asked to call NIPD at 337-369-2306.
