LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)-The Lafayette location on Ambassador Caffery has been open for 20 years.

UPDATE:“You know there was something they could’ve done better than to just come tell her bunch of people you don’t have a job,” says manager Melissa Guilbeaux.

Melissa Guilbeaux was a manager at Posados and has worked at the restaurant for two years.

When her employees at Posados on Ambassador Caffery arrived at work today they found lock doors and management from their corporate offices in Texas who told that their store was closing.

“You work 11 to 12 hours a day, five days a week and this becomes your family and it’s almost not even about the money right now it’s about you know losing all these wonderful people that I have here, I will get them as my kids you know I want the best for them,” says Guilbeaux.

They really don’t even care you know how I mean how do you do that to someone on a Monday morning. You show up to work and the doors, the gates locked and I mean it’s not our management here because the guys that are directly over the store didn’t even know about it,” says Murphy Blue who has been a cook at Posados for 10 months.

“It kind it was rough when I got here but lately you know business has been booming. A lot of people love you know our food or cooking,” he said. “I want to say it’s because of me but you know everything’s been so much getting better for what we know.”

“We have a lot of hard workers here that have been here a really long time, and put the time and effort. They stuck with us when we were slow and we had a great week this week I just never thought that’s would happen,” says Guilbeaux.
