The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office credited the public’s quick response to the advisory in locating the suspect and the victim.

Major Wendell Raborn said Boudreaux kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, who has a restraining order against him, around 8 p.m. Saturday from the Lowe’s on Center Street.

The victim apparently attempted to escape from Boudreaux by jumping out the vehicle they were in. Witnesses told deputies Boudreaux forced the victim back into his pickup truck.

Boudreaux is now in custody of the sheriff’s office and will be charged with second-degree kidnapping, attempted second-degree murder, and violation of a protective order.

The victim is being treated for her injuries at a local hospital.
