Library Board meets for first time since Story Time controversy

The Lafayette Public Library Board of Control meets for the first time Monday night since the Drag Queen Story Time controversy.

Tomorrow at the Lafayette Consolidated Government meeting, two councilmen will propose a resolution de-nouncing the event that is scheduled for October.   The resolution is sponsored by District 5 Councilman, Jared Bellard and District 9 Councilman, William Theriot. The council will vote on whether they support the Drag Queen Story Time event.   Mayor-President Joel Robideaux has called for the event to be canceled.

Also, last week Robideaux appointed Hilda Edmond as a new member of the Library Board.  She replaces Joseph Gordon-Wiltz who resigned in August.
