Lafayette residents create Hurricane Michael Fund to help victims


Emily Hamner and Burley Pellerin established the Acadiana Hurricane Michael Fund to support nonprofit organizations who are helping the victims of Hurricane Michael.

“We have all vacationed in the communities that were affected by this storm,” said Hamner of the Pinhook Foundation. “This fund will be away for Acadiana residents to help give to the beach communities that we all know and love.”

American Red Cross volunteer teams have been in Panama City, Florida assisting displaced residents.

Acadiana Hurricane Michael Fund is a fund of Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA). All donations are tax-deductible. Donations will be granted to nonprofit organizations who are helping with Hurricane Michael disaster recovery efforts.
