UPDATE, 7/24/22 8:23 P.M.: A second person accused of gunning down a man on Moss Street near Mudd Avenue in Lafayette, has been arrested.

Lafayette Police Spokesperson Sgt. Robin Green said they have identified the shooter as Steve Solomon 38, of Lafayette.

She said Solomon was taken into custody Sunday and will be booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a warrant for first degree murder.

No additional details were released.  

UPDATE, 7/24/22, 2:19 P.M.: The victim has been identified as Billy Joseph, 40 of Lafayette. An arrest was also made in the case. Artimus Johnson was arrested and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on principle to first degree murder.

The investigation is still on going.

UPDATE, 7/23/22, 5:51 P.M.: According to Lafayette Police, officers were called to the 200 block of Moss St. saying shots were fired around 2:44 p.m. Once they arrived, investigators found that two vehicles were involved in a drive by shooting. The victim’s vehicle came to rest after striking a pole. The victim was found dead in their vehicle.
