A Lafayette man is behind bars, on sex crime charges.
According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike A. Couvillon, in February, Detectives with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division began investigating a complaint in regards to indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor after a Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Detective received a text message on their personal cell phone from a wrong number.
Through the course of a two month long investigation between the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations division and Louisiana State Police, Region II Bureau of Investigations, numerous “Undercover Photographs” of a Trooper posing as a juvenile were sent to the suspect who Detectives identified as Shane Michael Duhon, 32, from 143 Albarado Road, Lot 13, Lafayette, Louisiana.
Duhon was arrested Friday at his residence on a warrant for 12 counts of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and 12 counts of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor. Duhon was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and then transported to the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center where he is currently being held with no bond.
This investigation is still on-going and more charges may be forthcoming.
