Lafayette man arrested in connection with March 13 shooting in Parks

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)- On March 13, 2019, at approximately 8:30 a.m., deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to 911 call regarding a shooting in the 1000 block of Mouton Avenue in Parks.

Upon arrival, Deputies learned that a male victim sustained a gunshot wound following an altercation with a male subject. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. 

An investigation into the incident was initiated by Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office and upon investigation, they identified the suspect as Mark Williams, 39, Lafayette.

A warrant of arrest was obtained for Mark Williams and late last night, upon execution of the warrant, he was arrested with the assistance of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office at a residence in the Hobson Street area of Lafayette. 

Following his arrest, he was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center where he was booked in on attempted second degree murder.
