Lafayette City-Parish Councilman Kenneth Boudreaux has announced in a Facebook post that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Boudreaux, who is 50 years old and represents City-Parish District 4, wrote in a Facebook post Sunday that he had been dealing with an emergency since Wednesday from a procedure that he had on last Monday.
The results of the procedure, according to Boudreaux, confirmed that has prostate cancer.
“I am ready for this battle. Cancer has definitely picked the wrong one. Don’t feel sorry for me feel sorry for it. I ask for your continued prayers.”
On the same day that Boudreaux learned of his illness, he says, he was gifted with his first grandchild, Micah Scott Gonsoulin.
“To acknowledge how GREAT GOD is, if there was even a chance of discouragement or sorrow in me look at GOD. On the same day I was informed of the cancer I was given my first grandchild. REASON.”
The councilman said anyone with business that needs attention should contact the professional office directly to get the fastest and most efficient response.
