Two COVID-19 confirmed cases in Vermilion Parish

KAPLAN, La. (KLFY)– UPDATE: Regional medical director Dr. Tina Stefanski confirmed two cases of COVID-19 in Vermilion Parish.

ORIGINAL: The first case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Vermilion Parish, according to Kaplan Mayor, Mike Kloesel.

Kloesel took to Facebook to announce the case, which he says he got confirmed by the Vermilion Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness.

In his post, Kloesel made the following statement:

We knew this time period was coming. Let’s just keep doing what we’re doing. Social distancing, washing hands, and staying away from places that we don’t need to be at.
