LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- Ian Paul Howard, accused of killing Lafayette Police Cpl. Michael Middlebrook, faces trial for three counts of attempted first-degree murder on Nov. 18.
The case involving Middlebreak’s murder is still pending and no court case have been set. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Middlebrook was fatally shot while on duty inside a convenience store on Moss Street in October, 2017.
Howard is also accused of wounding three others that night.
According to The Advertiser, Howard’s attorneys continue to pursue a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity for those charges.
