CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) – A high speed pursuit in Jennings resulted in a crash and the discovery of 10 pounds of crystal meth.
According to the Jennings Police Department, officers were on regular patrol in the Madison St. area when they saw a car drive away at a high rate of speed. The suspects reached 120 MPH during the pursuit, which ended on Hwy. 102 south of Jennings when the vehicle crashed.
As officers secured the scene, they noticed large amounts of money and around the area where the vehicle flipped, as well as, large gallon bags of what appeared to be crystal meth.
Two male occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local area hospital for injuries. Arrest warrants will be issued for the two males. 9 pounds of crystal meth, a half kilo of cocaine and approximately $9,000 were recovered from the accident and seized.
Jennings Police says it’s the largest seizure of meth ever by the department. The street value is estimated to be over $250,000.
