JEANERETTE, La. (KLFY) — Police still search for one of the suspects in the June 16 shooting in Jeanerette that left one dead.
The injured victim was transported to a New Orleans hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time.
The shooting occurred Friday afternoon around 4 p.m. At the time, reports said two people were injured, with one receiving treatment at the scene. Both Jeanerette Police, Jeanerette City Marshal’s Office and Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Jeremy Smith Jr., 18, was arrested, booked and processed for First Degree Murder.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the second person involved in this incident, Jason Joe Jr., 19. Joe is wanted for Principal to First Degree Murder.
