IBERIA PARISH (KLFY) – Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard is opening a phone bank Tuesday in order to help collect reports of flood damage from residents in the parish.

The phone bank will open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning Tuesday August 15th.

The phone banks will continue to run until further notice.

According to Parish President Richard, the phone bank will allow Iberia Parish home owners to report flood damage to their primary residence.

That information will be collected and forwarded to the Governor’s Office and FEMA daily.

Officials are asking home owners to report their damage even if they have no plans to file a claim with FEMA.

They add that collecting the damage information is extremely important to the Parish’s efforts to qualify Iberia Parish residents with flood damage for federal assistance.
