We will see a chance of strong to severe storms late tonight and early Thursday morning across Acadiana.
According to Chief Meteorologist Heath Morton, it does look as though the better chance of severe weather and flash flooding will be across the western and northern parts of Louisiana.
The latest computer models show the storms weakening as they move into Acadiana Thursday morning, but a few severe storms will be possible.
An isolated tornado is possible as well, because we will have decent wind shear in the atmosphere.
Some of the western parishes may see storms late night, but most of Acadiana will see the storms between 5-8 AM.
On average, I think Acadiana will see about 1-2” of rain with the higher totals over the western parts of Acadiana.
The rain should be gone by mid to late morning.
