The following has been released by Louisiana State Police:

Have a peeling Motor Vehicle Inspection Sticker?

Motorists who notice their MVI sticker is peeling or damaged are encouraged to return to their MVI Inspection Station and have it replaced at no cost.

Peeling stickers remain valid and motorists should not attempt to tape, glue, or alter the MVI sticker in any way.

Replacement is not mandatory as long as the sticker remains visible, but it is encouraged.

MVI Inspection Stations will be able to exchange any returned defective stickers for new ones through the Office of Motor Vehicles. Inspection Station representatives with questions or concerns on replacing the defective stickers should call OMV HeadQuarters at (225) 925-6161.

Should motorists have a specific issue with a MVI station, they can contact the Department of Public Safety MVI unit at 225-925-6113 Ext: 205.
