LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Governor John Bel Edwards was in town on Tuesday to celebrate the launch of CGI’s new $13 million dollar technology center in Lafayette.

The 50,000 square foot facility houses the company’s fourth onshore delivery center and is expected to create up to 400 high-quality IT jobs in Acadiana by the year 2020.

Governor Edwards says the new facility houses is a great way to invest in the state’s up and coming workforce.

“The most exciting thing for me today is to be here looking at you the people. Because this is what opportunity is about and its such a delight to be here looking at folks who look like the state of Louisiana. And I’m proud to be among you.”
