  • Police in Crowley are searching for the suspects connected to last night’s shooting that left one person injured. Investigators say they are following up on leads as to their whereabouts.

  •  23 year-old Willie Thomas Jr. has been indicted for the murder of his father earlier this year. In January, Willie Thomas Sr. was found suffering from blunt for trauma to his head.

  • A grand jury also indicted James Malloy of Youngsville on a second degree murder charge for the stabbing death of his sister.

  • One Opelousas man is putting gun violence in checkmate with a new program he’s started for the youth. ‘Guns Down, Power Up’s Play and Pray Chess Day’ is every Sunday at 5pm at 528 Park Avenue.

  • Suspended Lafayette City Marshal Brian Pope faces two new indictments of Malfeasance in office. These new indictments are in addition to the 17 indictments he was already facing for Malfeasance in office.

  • The state Attorney General responds to the Lafayette City Parish Council on the ordinance vote to fix the charter. He says his opinion was purely legal, not politics.

  • Rouses in New Iberia celebrated their grand opening Wednesday. 150 new jobs were created when the store opened. Hobby lobby next door to Rouses will open in May.

  • Last night’s Powerball Jackpot was won. A single ticket sold in Wisconsin matched all 6 numbers. The next drawing is Saturday, and has reset to 40 million dollars.
