Convicted felons and ex-offenders had the opportunity to hit the restart button Wednesday by participating in a local job fair.
The event, sponsored by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, was held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Public Safety Complex.
The job fair’s goal was to help recently released offenders re-enter society by putting in the work with a new career.
Those in attendance were taught how to prepare resumes, dress professionally and interview effectively.
Family members of ex-felons and members of the community were also invited to attend.
Other opportunities included networking and getting information about various resources available in the area.
