Broussard Police are looking for a suspect following the deadly shooting of a Duson man.
The shooting happened early this morning at the Pines Apartment Complex on Leon Street in Broussard.
Police say they were responding to a disturbance around 2 Friday morning.
Initially, it was reported to dispatch that someone was beating a man with a gun.
Later, there were reports of shots fired.
Police say when they got to the apartment, they found the victim, 24-year old Leon Williams Jr. dead from gunshot wounds.
Police add they detained three men for questioning, but no arrests regarding the murder have been made.
One woman, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, says she’s concerned about the violence.
“You know it’s dangerous here and they have kids and I feel like the community just needs to be a little more safer,” she explains.
She adds that she hopes those who have information will come forward.
“I believe there’s more to the story, someone should come forward because it could be you, your family members– the violence just needs to stop,” she says.
Broussard police chief, Brannon Decou says residents in Broussard should not be worried.
Decou says this is only the second homicide in 10 years, and the police department works tirelessly to keep the city safe.
