Crowley student moves to next round in National Spelling Bee

WASHINGTON, DC (KLFY)- Michael Goss correctly spelled “oxyacetylene” in the first preliminary round of the National Spelling Bee Tuesday. 

He will move on to the next round, which takes place Wednesday.

Goss is 14 and is an 8th grade student at St. Michael Elementary School in Crowley.

He is competing in his 3rd straight National Spelling Bee.

Last year, he tied for 41st place.
