If you see someone in Lafayette or the Acadiana area with a big smile or perhaps they let someone into their lane while driving, or maybe expressed gratitude for what is too often taken for granted, there’s a good reason.
A convenience store, T&J Food Mart, located on Louisiana Avenue in Lafayette recently sold a scratch-off ticket worth $30,000.
According to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, the winning crossword multiplier scratch-off ticket was purchased earlier this week.
The winner can claim the prize at any lottery office or by mail. When claiming the winning ticket, you must provide current photo identification and your social security number for tax purposes.
The Lottery has five regional offices in New Orleans, Lafayette, Alexandria, Monroe and Shreveport. Prizes of more than $600 may be claimed at any office; however Lotto Jackpots and Powerball & Mega Millions prizes of more than $510,000 must be claimed at the Lottery’s headquarters in Baton Rouge.
