As students attending their final year at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette prepare to get their degrees next week, the University is putting the final touches on the 2018 Spring Commencement Ceremony.
This year’s Commencement Speaker is not only a former Ragin’ Cajun, but a KLFY alumn as well.
CBS News Correspondent David Begnaud has been selected to speak during the General Assembly on Friday, May 11th at the Cajundome.
Begnaud recently earned the George Polk Award in Public Service for his coverage of Hurricane Maria’s impact in Puerto Rico.
He also covered the Grand Theater shooting here in Lafayette back in 2015.
David began his broadcasting career here at News 10, where he ultimately became a weekend anchor.
