ESTHERWOOD, La. (KLFY)- A Breaux Bridge man has been arrested on multiple charges after reportedly leading Acadia Parish deputies on a chase in the Estherwood area.

Danny Sylvester, 34, has been charged with two counts of burglary, one count of attempted home invasion, flight from an officer, reckless operation and illegal possession of a firearm.

Earlier this week, Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish featured a burglary on Cattail Lane near Iota. Surveillance video from a neighboring residence captured the image of a Jeep Patriot vehicle believed to be involved in the burglary, authorities said.

Estherwood Police attempted to stop a Jeep Patriot matching this description, which led to a pursuit and suspect fleeing the vehicle on foot.

After multiple agencies responded, the suspect was taken into custody.

“During the course of the investigation, it is believed that at least two people were involved in daytime kick in burglaries within several parishes,” the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

“With multiple agencies investigating this suspect and others, we know it will take some time to sort through cases. We ask that the public be patient with investigators as we work to bring a successful conclusion to these investigations” stated Sheriff K.P. Gibson.

Sylvester’s bond has been set at $254,000.

Anyone with information regarding these investigations, Danny Sylvester or his associates is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 789-TIPS or download our P3 app on your mobile device to report your tip anonymously.
