Arrest made in Plaisance double homicide; 2 suspects still sought


PRAIRIE RONDE, La. (KLFY) –  One suspect has been arrested and two are still wanted for a shooting that left two men dead in Plaisance back in September.

St.Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said deputies arrested Jermarcus McLendon today outside of Prairie Ronde on two counts of principal to first-degree murder.

Investigators are still looking for two suspects in the shooting that happened on September 24, 2016.

A passing motorist discovered the two bodies of 19-year-old Shawn Parish and 21-year-old Nakia Ramer Jr., both of Opelousas, on Cosay Raod in Plaisance.

Investigators discovered 18 .223 caliber shell casings at the scene, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.
