The American Red Cross will offer volunteer training in response to the threat of flooding throughout the state.
After several days of heavy rains across the Midwest, the threat of flooding has returned to communities across north, central and southwest Louisiana. As a result, the Red Cross and its community and government partners are closely monitoring the situation, and positioning resources to respond and assist across the region as needed.
As part of these preparations, the Red Cross will host several shelter management and disaster response classes for new and current volunteers throughout the month of March.
Below is a list of classes available this month in Lafayette and Vermillion parishes. Prospective volunteers can register online, or fill out an application when they arrive to take the course.
