ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY)- A 42-year-old Rayne man is facing two counts of first degree rape and molestation of juvenile charges.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has conducted an investigation in regards to a complaint of sexual abuse involving juveniles.
“The investigation revealed that Joseph Menard was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with two minor children who were visiting the household,” the department said today.
Menard was charged with two counts of molestation of a juvenile and two counts of first degree rape.
Menard is a convicted Tier 2 sex offender, authorities said. He was convicted of molestation of a juvenile in 2000. In 2004 and 2016, he was convicted of failing to register as a sex offender.
On Dec. 7, Menard was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on a $700,000 bond.
