Acadia Parish man arrested for attempted second degree murder

ACADIA PARISH- Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Simon, 47, on Saturday on the charge of attempted second degree murder.

A Saturday morning argument between roommates led to one person being hospitalized and the other incarcerated. The incident happened just after 8:00 am in the 2300 block of South Highway 13.

The investigation has revealed that two male roommates were involved in an argument. During the argument, one of the subjects armed himself with a large knife. The victim received multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital and underwent surgery to repair the damage to his back and arm area.

Simon is being held at the Acadia Parish Jail, with a bond of $100,000.
