(KLFY) — 98 homicides were reported across the Acadiana area by local law enforcement agencies in 2022.

Below is an interactive map showing the approximate locations of each reported homicide. (NOTE: Locations are not exact.) The map does not represent shootings or incidents that only resulted in injuries and/or property damages. The information used to create the map has been verified and reported by the police and/or sheriff’s offices of the respective parishes in which they occurred.

This map only includes the KLFY broadcast coverage area, which includes Lafayette, Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Jeff Davis, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion parishes.

Jan. 2 — Raven Charles, 30, is killed in a hit-and-run in the 2100 block of NW Evangeline Thruway in Lafayette.
Jan. 7 — Shantel Simpson, 30, is killed in a hit-and-run in the 1200 block of Carmel Dr. in Lafayette.
Jan. 7 — Tyvon Favors, 17, is shot to death in the 600 block of E. Laurel Ave. in Eunice.
Jan. 10 — Joseph Zeno, 53, is shot to death in the 400 block of Haig St. in Lafayette.
Jan. 10 — Cole Horton, 26, of Breaux Bridge, is shot to death in his driveway in the 1000 block of Courville Rd. in Breaux Bridge.
Jan. 11 — An unidentified 43-year-old man is shot to death on James St. in Franklin.
Jan. 16 — Donald Jackson, 57, of Scott, is killed in a hit-and-run in the 2600 block of Ambassador Caffery Pkwy. in Lafayette.
Jan. 16 — Warren Prejean, 32, of Lafayette, is shot to death in the 700 block of S. Sterling St. in Lafayette.
Jan. 17 — A body is found in a burn pile on S. Main St. in St. Martinville.
Jan. 23 — Tyron Coates, 24, is shot in an officer-involved shooting in the 1600 block of W. Pinhook in Lafayette.

February — 8 killed

Feb. 1 — Denzel Matthews, 25, of New Iberia, is shot to death in the 1500 block of N. Montagne St. in New Iberia.
Feb. 6 — Damien Joseph Lastrapes Jr., 19, of Opelousas, is shot to death outside the K.C. Hall on La. 104 in Opelousas.
Feb. 12 — An 11-year-old is shot to death in the 2200 block of Maple St. in Morgan City.
Feb. 14 — Corey Rosette, Jr., 26, is shot to death in the 100 block of Nicole Ln. in Opelousas.
Feb. 15 — Wade Edward Smith is shot to death in the 9400 block of La. 105 in Melville.
Feb. 15 — August Tujuan Latrall, 34, of Jeanerette, is shot to death on St. Julien Rd. near La. 75 in Chataignier.
Feb. 19 — Anita Bobb, 51, is shot to death while standing in her kitchen in the 2000 block of 3rd St. in Jeanerette.
Feb. 23 — A man known as Joey, 55, is shot to death in an officer-involved shooting at the corner of 7th and Parkerson in Crowley.

March — 8 killed

March 8 — Stoney Loup, 57, is struck in a hit-and-run in the 200 block of Brothers Rd. in Scott. He later died from his injuries on March 15.
March 9 — Alessia Joy Malone, 20, is shot to death in the 200 block of Benoit St. in Rayne.
March 18 — Freddy Gomezsoto, 18, of Abbeville, is shot to death on Clover St. near Bailey St. in Abbeville.
March 20 — An infant is found dead in the 100 block of Resha Rd. in Breaux Bridge. The parents are arrested.
March 22 — Jalen Hill, 20, is shot to death in the 400 block of Raymond St. in Opelousas.
March 25 — An unidentified 19-year-old is shot to death in the 1000 block of French St. in New Iberia.
March 26 — Jamond Ledet, 26, is shot to death in triple shooting in the 700 block of W. 10th St. in Crowley.
March 28 — Jalen Walker, 29, is shot to death in the 1900 block of Carmel Dr. in Lafayette.

April — 7 killed

April 11 — Clarence Mitchell, 36, is shot to death in the 100 block of Bradley St. in Eunice.
April 13 — Terrell Fontenette, Jr., 19, is shot to death in the 1500 block of Bonin Rd. in Broussard.
April 13 — An unidentified 23-year-old man is shot to death in the 1700 block of Jennifer St. in New Iberia. Originally thought to be a suicide.
April 14 — Trevan Bonner, 18, is shot to death in officer-involved shooting in the 200 block of Paul Breaux Ave. in Lafayette.
April 18 — Austin Granger, 23, is shot to death near mile marker 105 on Interstate 10 outside of Lafayette.
April 27 — DOUBLE HOMICIDE: Alton James Thomas, 46, and Rakatelyn Janae Colla, 4, is shot to death in the 700 block of Mia St. in Opelousas.

May — 7 killed

May 11 — A 24-year-old man is shot to death in the 700 block of Providence St. in New Iberia.
May 18 — Terrence Valliere, 34, is shot to death in the 100 block of Sateen Royale Circle in Carencro. (NOTE: This case is currently being investigated as a homicide, though has elements that could be construed as self-defense. The district attorney’s office will decide whether charges are filed.)
May 22 — A 16-year-old girl is shot to death in the 600 block of E. Willow St. in Lafayette.
May 28 — Brady Paul Mayeaux, 37 of Houston, Texas is shot near the intersection of Smede Hwy. and Petroleum Pkwy. near Broussard.
May 28 — Lavar Manuel, 43, is shot to death in the 200 block of Guidry St. in Lafayette.
May 29 — An unidentified man is shot to death in the 1700 block of S. Gibbs Lane in New Iberia.
May 30 — Kendol Payne, 31, is shot to death in the 1200 block of Ina Claire Dr. in Opelousas.

June — 10 killed

June 3 — A 21-year-old man is shot to death in the 700 block of Wilson St. in Jeanerette.
June 6 — Jerry W. Hughes, 73 of Welsh, is struck by an SUV on La. 1126 near Farm Supply Rd. west of Jennings. The SUV fled the scene.
June 10 — Mary Elizabeth Faulk, 37, is found dead of a gunshot wound in the 100 block of E. Gilman Rd. in Lafayette.
June 16 — DOUBLE HOMICIDE: Aiden McCauley, 17, and Paul Celestine, 18, are shot to death at the intersection of W. Maple Ave. and Boudreaux Ave. in Eunice.
June 16 — A juvenile is shot to death at the Kathy Apartments in Crowley.
June 21 — Kobe White, 15 is shot to death in the 800 block of S. Sterling St. in Lafayette.
June 24 — Manuel “Sweet Pea” Provost, 28, is shot to death in the 400 block of S. Main St. in Jennings.
June 25 — Karla Garner, 38, is found dead in the 700 block of Bonin Rd. in Lafayette.
June 27 — Leslie Tolliver, 47, is shot to death on Hammond St. in Lafayette.

July — 9 killed

July 4 — Christopher Smith, 37, of Baton Rouge, is found dead in a suspected hit-and-run on Gilman Rd. in Lafayette.
July 9 — Dante Savoy, 22, is found shot to death in the 500 block of N. Pierce Street in Lafayette.
July 10 — Stacey Levier, 48, is found dead in a suspected hit-and-run on Prudhomme St. near Market St. in Opelousas.
July 14 — Jazaylon Levy, 18 is shot to death at Stone Bridge Apartments on Rodeo Rd. in Abbeville.
July 17 — An unidentified man is shot to death on Victoria Dr. near Maurice.
July 17 — Kiswanna Patterson Latham, 30, is shot to death in the 2400 block of W. Pinhook Rd. in Lafayette.
July 18 — Jody Gary, 40, of New Iberia, is found possibly beaten to death in the 7100 block of Soileau Rd. in Iberia Parish.
July 23 — Billy Joseph, 40, of Lafayette, is found shot to death in the 200 block of Moss St. in Lafayette.
July 31 — An unidentified man is found shot to death in the 500 block of E. 4th St. in Broussard.

August — 7 killed

Aug. 7 — Jeremy Chaisson, 21, is shot to death on E. Martin Luther King Dr. in Sunset.
Aug. 10 — Jason Edwards, 44, is shot to death in the 500 block of Halphen St. in Opelousas.
Aug. 14 — Camille Angelle, 42 is found dead in a hit-and-run in the 900 block of S. Poydras St. in Breaux Bridge.
Aug. 23 — Lacorrion Turner, 26, is found shot to death in the 600 block of Marigny Circle in Duson.
Aug. 24 — Davonte Chane Edwards, 22, of Breaux Bridge, is killed in a hit-and-run near the intersection of La. 182 and Whispering Oaks Dr. in St. Landry Parish.
Aug. 24 — Eric Simar is found dead on La. 1120. just north of La. 91 in Acadia Parish. He had been missing since Aug. 16.
Aug. 31 — A 15-year-old boy is shot to death in the 100 block of Toulouse Dr. in Lafayette.

September — 14 killed

Sept. 1 — An unidentified victim is struck by a vehicle near the intersection of S. Eastern Ave. & E. Pine St. in Crowley and dies days later at a local hospital.
Sept. 2 — MURDER/SUICIDE: Katelynn Hebert Bourque, 30 and Samuel Thibodeaux, 46 are found shot to death on Troy Rd. near New Iberia.
Sept. 6 — Willie Robinson Jr., 56, of Kaplan, is found shot to death near the intersection of Bailey Ave. and West C St. in Rayne.
Sept. 10 — Rodney James Dural, 58, is found dead in a hit-and-run in the 3100 block of Ambassador Caffery Pkwy. in Lafayette.
Sept. 12 — A 17-year-old boy in Eunice dies after unwittingly ingesting drugs laced with fentanyl.
Sept. 16 — Emmanuel Barnes, 36, is shot multiple times in the 100 block of Fitzgerald St. in Lafayette. Dies the next day from his wounds.
Sept. 16 — Amber Onzime dies from her wounds from a January 1, 2022 DWI crash in the 500 block of E. Pont Des Mouton Rd. in Lafayette.
Sept. 17 — A toddler is found dead in the 100 block of Willie May Lane in Lafayette.
Sept. 18 — Carl Austin, 70, is stabbed to death in a cemetery in the 1000 block of Dauphine St. in New Iberia.
Sept. 20 — Mikeal James Arvie, 27, of Opelousas, is found shot to death in his car in the 400 block of Marigold Loop in Lafayette.
Sept. 25 — Montarrio Dargin, 23, of Sunset, is shot to death while driving on 1100 block of Ina Clare Drive in Opelousas.
Sept. 25 — Chester Thibeaux, 49, of Lafayette, was struck by a vehicle when walking westbound on La. 96 near Capritto Forty Arpent Road in St. Martin Parish.
Sept. 29 — Barrett Davidson, of Maurice, is found dead after unwittingly ingesting drugs laced with fentanyl.

October — 7 killed

Oct. 4 — Ross Chiasson, 29, of Lafayette was shot to death in his home.
Oct. 4 — Paige Lewis, 25, of Duson was shot to death in her home.
Oct. 4 — Kawanna Felix, 43, of Lafayette was found shot to death in her home.
Oct. 4 — Markalon Batiste, 19, of Breaux Bridge was shot to death.
Oct. 19 — Deshune Johnlewis, 20, of New Iberia was found shot to death.
Oct. 22 — Charles Thomas, 60, of Lafayette was knocked down during a fight, hit his head on the road.
Oct. 23 — Unidentified victim found in the road with multiple gunshot wounds.

November — 9 killed

Nov. 2 — A 15-year-old boy is shot to death in the 800 block of North Main Street in Opelousas.
Nov. 6 — Body of Raul de Jesus Ortiz found in the 100 block of Windward Street in Lafayette.
Nov. 12 — An unidentified man was found dead from a gunshot wound in the 700 block of Malapart Road in Lafayette.
Nov. 13 — Jesse Boclair, 36, was found dead as the result of a shooting.
Nov. 23 — Aaron Nathan Washington, 38, of Opelousas died in a hit-and-run while walking his bike on U.S. Hwy. 190 near La. 104 in Opelousas.
Nov. 24 — Misti Romero, 40, of Youngsville was found dead in the 1100 block of Evangeline Thruway in Broussard.
Nov. 24 — Unidentified man was found with several gunshot wounds in the 500 block of Elizabeth Street in New Iberia.
Nov. 27 — Heather Dupre, 35, found dead with multiple lacerations on her body.
Nov. 30 — Kerrington Sam, 22, of Lafayette was shot and killed at Greystone Apartments.

December — 2 killed

Dec. 14 — Lochlan Harman, 18, of Breaux Bridge was found shot to death in the 1100 block of the I-10 Frontage Road in Breaux Bridge.
Dec. 26 — Jermaine Riles, 49, of New Iberia was shot and killed in the 100 block of Dark Alley in New Iberia.
