LAFAYETTE, LA. (KLFY) – Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old Northside High School student yesterday afternoon.
The shooting happened after school and away from the campus around 2:46 p.m. in the 2000 block of Moss Street.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Corporal Bridgette Dugas said witnesses identified the shooter as 18-year-old Dejaun Clay, of Lafayette.
Clay was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for aggravated battery by shooting.
Dugas said “Through further investigation, two additional juveniles were arrested for illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. Both were booked in the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center.”
The case remains under investigation.
