LAFAYETTE, La.- CREATE Lafayette is partnering with several organizations to offer musician services and a music economic development event in coordination with Festival International de Louisiane’s Louisiana International Music Exchange, known as LIME.
Celebrating 12 years of bringing the music of South Louisiana to the world, LIME is a free event for musicians, managers, agents, music buyers, music students and more.
The event has grown each year, and 2019 is set to be among the best yet through this new partnership. With 100,000s of people attending Festival International, LIME aims to spotlight and grow Lafayette Parish’s cultural economy.
Each year, LIME connects Acadiana’s musicians with prominent music presenters, talent buyers and audiences from around the globe. The private event offers music industry knowledge via informational panels, musical showcases, networking opportunities and introductions to music buyers from some of the world’s best festivals and events.
Complimentary services of headshots, office hours with entertainment attorneys, custom earplug fittings, a musician’s lounge and equipment checks will be offered to LIME attendees this year.
Free Headshots, attorney services and earplug fittings will be by appointment on Friday between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., and the Musician’s Lounge and equipment check will be offered Thursday – Sunday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Workshops on copyrighting and the GRAMMY selection process round out the Friday schedule of events. Thursday through Sunday, musicians are invited to attend the musician’s lounge, open every day from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., giving them a place of their own during this community-celebrated event of culture. Musicians should bring CDs and business cards to all LIME events and networking opportunities. All LIME events are free, including the musician’s lounge and services, but registration is required.
Those interested in joining the musician’s lounge or taking advantage of a free headshot, attorney meeting and custom earplug fitting must register here.
