Acadiana residents have been nominated for 2019 ICON Arts and Cultural Awards

 Lafayette, La. (The Ehrhardt Group) – Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser will give a keynote speech at the 2019 ICON Arts and Cultural Awards on Thursday, April 11. Lt. Gov. Nungesser will discuss the impact Acadiana’s culture has on Louisiana’s economy and how the local culture is a commodity that should be nurtured for future generations. The keynote speech will be given at 7-9pm at the Acadiana Center for the Arts at 101 W. Vermilion St. in Lafayette.

The ICON Arts and Cultural Awards celebrates those in the Acadiana community who have made an impact through the arts, business and culture. The proceeds from the event will provide a foundation for the ABC Fund, which is dedicated to sustaining, advocating for and protecting Acadiana’s creative economy.

2019 Honorary ICONS include:

  • Paul “Lil Buck” Sinegal – Lifetime Achievement
  • Vergie Banks – Visual Artist
  • Lauren Daigle – Performing Artist
  • Catherine Blanchet – Trailblazer
  • Cesar Vincent Project: Barry Ancelet, Chris Stafford and Patrick Mould – Leadership in the Creative Economy-Project
  • André Courville – Rising Star
